According to SPORT's report, Barca president-elect Laporta confirmed Barca will extend Flick's contract until 2028.
Joan Laporta, announced that Hansi Flick's contract extension until 2028 is practically finalized and will be made public very soon, even before he takes office : "Our intention is to renew. His current contract ends in 2027, and we always want him to work with another year remaining. Hansi is also in favor. We're going to announce his renewal as soon as possible because we believe it's the best course of action," he stated on Rac-1.
Laporta also wants to renew Deco's contract: "I'd like Deco to stay. He does an extraordinary job and he and Flick make a great team. They get along very well personally and professionally, which isn't easy because they both know a lot about football. I hope Deco agrees to continue. I think he will. Deco is more reserved and introverted. He suffers a lot with his job, but he enjoys it and should stay. We're very happy with both of them and they're going to bring us success."
The Barcelona president heaped praise on Flick: "Hansi greatly respects Barça's genuine style and brings the qualities of a highly demanding professional. He has made the team function with the same players who weren't working before. He has given the team a boost through his clarity in expressing his opinions. He explains himself very clearly and has a strong personality in what he says, in the style of Rijkaard and Guardiola. There are times when he might not be satisfied with his own high standards."
Laporta would like to keep Flick for the entire term: "He's very happy in the city and at the club. He has everything organized here and I'd love for him to stay for the next five years. For now, we'll extend his contract for another year."
