Leganes 2-1 Real Sociedad: Stoppage time Oscar goal boosts survival hopes

Leganés sways pass Real 2-1 on Sunday at Estadio Municipal de Butarque. Leganés arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 0-0 draw against Atlético Madrid while Real Sociedad came from winning 3-0 against Mallorca in the last match played. Following today's result, Leganés and Real Sociedad occupy position 18th (18 points) and 7th (34 points) respectively after playing a total of 22 matches.

The first 45 minutes was in favour of Real Sociedad, thanks to a goal from Alexander Isak 20 minutes in the game, which saw the first half to a 0-1.

The second half started favourably for Leganés, with a good early goal from Kenneth Omeruo in the 49th minute. Later, Leganés scored once more and turned the match 2-1 thanks to a goal from Oscar in the 90th minute just before the end of the second half, and the game ended 2-1.

As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Leganés, Aitor Ruibal, Guido Carrillo and Oscar came on for Javi Eraso, Kevin Rodrigues and Martin Braithwaite, while Real brought on Martin Odegaard, Ander Barrenetxea and Willian Jose to replace Luca Sangalli, Portu and Alexander Isak.

The referee booked Recio, Chidozie Awaziem, Guido Carrillo and Jonathan Silva from Leganés, while for Real Sociedad Igor Zubeldia, Willian Jose and Ander Guevara saw a yellow card as well.

Leganés with their next fixture against Levante at away stadium, while Real Sociedad will face Athletic Bilbao at home stadium.
