Levante host Barcelona for the third time in the space of a year on Thursday night and they do so after the famous 5-4 victory in the league last spring and after the contrasting 5-0 humiliation just a few weeks ago.
It's difficult to predict how this week's Copa del Rey clash at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia will turn out, especially with both teams planning rotations, but one thing can be expected and that's a change in Levante's system.
Influenced by the summer sale of Jefferson Lerma, the Granotas have been playing a back three this season and they did so against Barcelona in LaLiga Santander on December 16, with the Catalan side exploiting that system to win by five.
This midweek, though, Paco Lopez is expected to return to a 4-4-2, the same system that worked so well in the 5-4 win in the penultimate round of the 2017/18 LaLiga Santander season, the only match Barcelona lost in that entire league campaign.
There are multiple reasons for the change, with Lopez also wanting to introduce an extra attacker in order to rest an extra defender for the busy schedule ahead.
There's also the aim to occupy space better than they did when they last hosted Ernesto Valverde's men.
The match kicks off at 21:30 CET on Thursday evening.
