Martin Liberman, a journalist in Argentina, has come out and criticised Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The 33-year-old has informed Barcelona that he would like to leave the club, which has led to interest from the likes of Manchester City, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, but the journalist thinks Messi has had life easy at the Camp Nou.
"Playing with the best in the world at Barcelona is a little easier," Liberman said of Messi.
"When I see Messi at the World Cup, I see a good player who has some sparks but has never managed to stand out.
"In the Argentine national team, [Mario] Kempes, [Daniel] Passarella, [Ubaldo] Fillol, [Gabriel] Batistuta, [Diego] Simeone, [Fernando] Redondo...are greater than Messi.
"And let's not talk about [Diego] Maradona...
"What is the problem with thinking that Cristiano [Ronaldo] is as good as Messi?
"One of them goes to the national team and puts the team on his shoulders; the other doesn't."
