Linares Deportivo, a club that was founded in 2009, reached this stage of the competition after defeating Gimnàstic Tarragona on penalties in the first round before recording a 2-1 win over La Liga team Alavés in the second round.

Linares are sitting 14th in their league table, with 22 points from 17 matches, while Barça are in fifth position in the LaLiga standings, with 31 points, only one point away from the Champions League spots.
The Catalan side, still missing a number of first-team players through injuries and covid-19, will take a confident-booster after grabbing all three points at Mallorca.
With arch-rivals Real Madrid looking a long way ahead at the top of the LaLiga table and Champions League elimination, the Copa del Rey could represent a good chance of winning a title this campaign, although the Europa League is also a possibility.
