Liverpool will begin their 2023 pre-season schedule with two games in Germany next month against second-tier opposition.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will face Karlsruher SC from the 2. Bundesliga on Wednesday July 19 at BBBank Wildpark, ahead of a behind-closed-doors match against SpVgg Greuther Furth, also from the German second division, on Monday, July 24.

The ties are likely be the first opportunity fans will get to see new arrivals to the club this summer.

Klopp’s side are eager to recruit midfield reinforcements after coming off a disappointing campaign where failure to secure a top four spot relegated last season’s Champions League runners-up to Europa League football next term.

Argentine Alexis Mac Allister is expected to be the first addition in this transfer window with further incomings planned after the departure of midfielders Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner.

Following the club’s fixtures in Germany, they are then scheduled to continue their pre-season plans with a stint in Singapore where they are set to face-off against English opposition.

The National Stadium will play host to a fixture against Leicester City, when they will defend the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy they won against Crystal Palace on last year’s tour, on Sunday July 30.

The Reds will then take part in an eye-catching clash with Bayern Munich at the same venue three days later.
