Ademola Lookman has called for optimism at Atletico Madrid following their narrow defeat to Real Betis in LaLiga.
Diego Simeone’s men were edged 1–0 by the visitors in Sunday night’s clash at the Metropolitano Stadium, with Brazilian winger Antony netting the decisive goal shortly before the half-hour mark.
Lookman, who was making his LaLiga debut for Atletico Madrid, thought he had marked the occasion with a goal, but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Despite the setback, the result marked Atletico’s first home league defeat of the season.
Reflecting on the match, the 28-year-old described the night as a memorable one, even though the outcome fell short of expectations.
