According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Luis Campos could be joining Kylian Mbappé (25) in trading the French capital for Real Madrid.
Campos’s position at PSG may come under increased scrutiny following Mbappé’s reported decision to leave the club at the end of his contract. The failure to keep arguably the best player in the world will be a disappointment for the club, and losing him for free has provided a sheen of embarrassment to the proceedings.
The sporting director’s past decisions may also be questioned, particularly the summer recruitment of Randal Kolo Muani (25) and Gonçalo Ramos (22) for a combined total of €170 million, and yet neither option has become the starting choice for PSG.
If this situation has left Campos’s position weakened at PSG then he still could have an admirer in Madrid, as Los Blancos remain keen on the sporting director. Like Mbappé, Campos also came close to joining Madrid in 2022 but remained with Les Parisiens to build their project around the French captain.
