Luka Modric has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia and will stay at Real Madrid for at least another year, according to reports.
The Croatian midfielder, who joined the club in 2012, is currently contracted to the Spanish giants until the end of this month.
He was the latest star targeted by Saudi Arabia after former team-mate Karim Benzema joined Al-Ittihad earlier this month.
According to Gianluca Di marzio, Modric was offered €200 million (£170m) by Al-Hilal over three years but he has rejected it in favour of remaining at Real next season.
It was thought that Real would be open to letting Modric depart after they completed the £113million signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
He has instead become the latest big name to turn down a move to the Saudi Pro League after Lionel Messi snubbed a £345m per season deal in favour of MLS club Inter Miami.
The 37-year-old's decision to extend his 11-year stay will come as a boost for Carlo Ancelotti's side, who have a number of young midfielders such as Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in their ranks.
Despite his advanced age, Modric remained an integral part of Ancelotti's team this season having made 51 appearances in all competitions.
He has enjoyed plenty of success in the Spanish capital since making a £30million move from Tottenham over a decade ago.
He has won LaLiga three times, the Champions League five times and Copa del Rey twice alongside other honours in 488 appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Modric inspired Croatia to the Nations League final with a goal in extra-time in a 4-2 win over Holland.
They will take on Spain in Sunday's final in Rotterdam, Holland.
