Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has revealed the first thing manager Pep Guardiola said to him after his transfer to the club was complete.
During a question and answer sessions with Man City Mahrez revealed the first thing Guardiola ever said to him upon his arrival.
"He was happy first," he said. "He said he was very happy to have me here,
"He said we're going to make big things together with the team."
The winger was questioned on his relationship with his teammates and picked Benjamin Mendy as the player he would take along with him if he was stranded on a desert island.
Pressed on why he would pick Mendy, Mahrez laughed: "I'd take my friend Ben [Mendy].
"I don't know whether he'd be good but we can speak French - fluent and quick - if we had to save each other."
Mahrez was also asked what skill he would take from one of his teammates.
The Algerian claimed he would love David Silva's ability in small spaces.
He said: "Maybe David [Silva]. He can play in such small spaces. I would take that from David.
"He is the best at this I think, one of the best in the world."
