The Chelsea loanee was substituted onto the pitch, booked and sent off moments later for saying too much to the referee in a moment of madness.
Diego Costa opened the scoring with a first half header from a a corner swung in by Koke while Atletico were made to work hard to maintain their lead owing to pressure from the home side.
Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak was fortunate not to see the ball trickle over his own goal line after it ricocheted off the Slovenian keeper before Felix pounced in the box to see a deflected shot find its way into the back of the net.
