Manchester City midfielder Rodri has made history with his new EA Sports FC 25 card rating leaked online.

While the fans are eagerly awaiting the release of their beloved football simulator, an X (formerly Twitter) user named @DonkTrading has leaked the top 50 highest-rated players in the game.

Fans were quick to notice that, alongside Real Madrid newcomer Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Barcelona women's team star Aitana Bonmati, midfielder Rodri topped the rankings.

After a highly successful season with Manchester City, which included an unprecedented fourth consecutive championship under manager Pep Guardiola, Rodri was a pivotal character in leading his national team to a historic victory at the European Championship 2024.

As a result, he is now considered one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or, accompanied by the likes of Vinicius Jnr, Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland.

However, the Brazilian, rated at 90, was outperformed by Rodri, whose rating increased from 89 to 91 in just one year.

The Spaniard saw all his six main stats increase compared to the previous edition, with the 'Pace' characteristic undergoing the most influential change, from 58 to 66.

While speed was never his strongest skill, other stats reveal him to be one of the best players in the game: 80 shooting, 86 passing, 84 dribbling, 87 defending and 85 physical abilities.

Notably, Rodri becomes the first central defensive midfielder to be the highest-rated player in the history of EA Sports game series.

The dominance of Man City is evident, with six other players featuring in the top 50, such as Kevin de Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Ederson, Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan.

The Belgium international received a one-point downgrade compared to the previous campaign, while his speed stats suffered the most, yet his passing characteristics remained at a 94 rating.

The cover star for EA Sports FC 25, Jude Bellingham, received a 90 rating and saw his position changed to CAM (Central Attacking Midfielder).

Previously, it was revealed that the Englishman would adorn the cover for the standard game edition with his iconic celebratory pose.

Following a disappointing season, his former international team-mate and Manchester United academy product Marcus Rashford endured a cruel downgrade of four points, specifically with a ten-point decrease in physical abilities.

Similarly, his Red Devils fellow, Casemiro, witnessed one of the most significant downgrades in the game's history, dropping from 89 to 84 with a pace rating of 38.
