Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele in order to solve their forward crisis.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford in November, United have been left with a desperate to bring a striker to the club to join their ranks. The Reds have scored a mere 20 Premier League goals this season, much fewer than their other rivals.

Now, according to Media Foot in France, United are weighing up making a move for Dembele. The ex-Celtic man moved to the French giants in 2018 and has scored 69 goals in more than 150 appearances for Lyon.

Dembele has not been prolific this season either having scored twice in 12 matches for Ligue 1 team. The 26-year-old is not expected to sign a new deal before his contract expires in the summer and Lyon are hoping to cash in during the winter window.

United looked at Dembele last January but opted against a move for the striker as the board were unwilling to give funds to Ralf Rangnick. Aston Villa and Galatasaray are also thought to be keen on the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, Media Foot has claimed that the United board have given consent for a €30m bid to be sent to Lyon for another of their players. Malo Gusto has become a star man for the French side despite him being just 19.

The right-back has excelled in Ligue 1 and it is reported that Erik ten Hag has identified Gusto as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Ten Hag told the media on Wednesday that the Englishman still has a future at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, MEN Sport understands that a number of clubs are circling around Wan-Bissaka and the Reds are not averse to selling the defender in January as they look to improve. Diogo Dalot has become Ten Hag's first-choice right-back since the boss moved to Manchester.
