Barcelona B midfielder Marcus McGuane will be out for five weeks with a hamstring injury. The former Arsenal player had to be substituted against Villarreal B because of the injury.

The Englishman went off after 61 minutes for Carles Perez and will miss five games. He will return in December in theory for the game against Valencia Mestalla. A pity because it's not the first time he has missed games for the B team.

Barca B coach Gerard Lopez said last season: "He has adapted well, he's doing well, he's a complete player. Maybe he lacks a bit of calm on the ball, this 'pause' in terms of positional play, but in all ways he has everything we need in the middle of the pitch."

McGuane is versatile and has played in defence and also as an interior in his career, even though his best spot is in defensivem idfield. He has a 25m euros release fee and his contract expires in 2021.
