Meet Juventus' other '3-0 win' over Atletico Madrid

Beyond that unforgettable defeat eight months ago, Atletico Madrid have also lost a number of battles in the transfer window when up against Juventus, most notably in the Old Lady's signings of Juan Cuadrado, Gonzalo Higuain and Matthijs de Ligt.

Cuadrado, who scored the first of Juventus' two goals in Madrid in September, was the first.

Back in May 2016 Atletico wanted to bring him in to compete with Yannick Carrasco in an attempt to cover the hole left by Arda Turan.

They had their sights set on the Colombian, who was leaving Chelsea, but he was already on loan in Turin and stayed put.

Shortly after, with their Champions League final heartache in Milan still a fresh memory, Atletico revisited the market to find a goalscorer.

Longing for Radamel Falcao or Diego Costa, Los Rojiblancos wanted to take Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli.

But the 90 million euros demanded by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis proved too much and made the move an impossibility.

The last goal of the Italian giants came this past summer. With Diego Godin leaving, Atleti needed strength at the back and De Ligt grabbed their attention.

But Juve won again, this time beating off competition from not only Diego Simeone's side but Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain too.
