Messi isn't only decisive with goals

Lionel Messi isn't having his best season at Barcelona, which isn't a surprise to anyone.

The Argentine, however, is still decisive for the club he tried to leave last summer, and Barcelona are a lot less dangerous without him.

Messi showed his importance again against Huesca. The game had become complicated for the Catalans, but the No.10 managed to unlock the LaLiga Santander minnows with a sublime pass to allow Frenkie de Jong to open the scoring with the game's only goal.

It was a pass that not many players could have spotted, but Messi did and proved again just how much of a difference he makes.

"The goal they scored came from Leo Messi's genius," said Huesca goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez after the game.

That pass took his tally of Barcelona assists to 300, on top of his incredible goal return, in 750 games.

Finding a new partner

The player to have benefited the most from Messi's generosity has been Luis Suarez. Of his 198 goals for the club, the Argentine assisted 39.

Messi has looked a little lost since the Uruguayan's exit, though. He still can't find a partner to combine with as he did with Suarez.

It's clear that there's no chemistry with Antoine Griezmann, and only Pedri is on the same wavelength as the captain.
