The future of Lionel Messi is still uncertain after the World Cup winner has officially parted ways with French side Paris Saint-Germain.
Not even two whole years after his shocking transfer away from Barcelona, Messi will now be on the lookout for a new club for his immediate future.
Among the deals on the table for Messi, a formal offer has been submitted from David Beckham's MLS side Inter Miami - who have been long linked with the Argentine forward since the club's founding.
It's one of at least two offers the 36-year-old has received as football reporter Guillem Balague discussed in a video posted to Twitter.
'He's got a very interesting proposal from Inter Miami, which includes other brands like Adidas and Apple all put together to make his brand a bit bigger,' Balague says.
'But it's a little bit confusing and complex. Obviously they won't be able to pay as many wages as Saudi Arabia would.'
As for the possibilities of a move to Saudi Arabia or back to Barcelona, Balague says that no clear decisions have been made.
'If you ask in [Saudi Arabia], they'll tell you - it's done. Nobody from the entourage of Messi has confirmed that because what I imagine has happened is that Jorge Messi, his dad, has put it all together and then it will be up to Leo to decide.
'But I see the Barcelona possibility [as] impossible. I just don't see it happening.'
'If it doesn't happen, his move to Barcelona, many people are ready to blame him or La Liga for that to be the case. And it's not like that at all.
'Basically, the stories that we've been hearing so far are that Barcelona had it all done with Leo and [he] was coming, Xavi wanted him, the president wanted him, there's been an offer.
'To tell you the truth, at this point... there has not been a formal offer from Barcelona. He will be willing to come to Barcelona for free, but that's illegal that cannot happen.
'Barcelona have got a priority which is to register Gavi and Araujo, next it will be to get Messi within the limits of financial fair play. But we don't know what those limits are.'
Balague continued, laying out a number of issues that Barca are facing due to the financial levers they activated and said that a restructuring of their finances would be a lot of work to complete in a short amount of time.
'It's a long way of saying Leo Messi cannot be offered guarantees that he will be included in the FFP limit. Because for him to actually be paid by Barcelona within the limits, Barcelona would have to sell players. That's the only thing we know.'
