Fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Arsenal's performance during their Europa League exit on Thursday night.
Arsenal crashed out of the competition after drawing 0-0 with Villarreal at the Emirates.
Fans were quick to take to social media to slam Mikel Arteta's side, with many questioning whether the Spanish manager deserves to stay at the helm.
Arsenal faced Unai Emery's Villarreal on Thursday night in a crucial last-four Europa League clash.
The Gunners went into the game trailing 2-1 from the opening leg in Spain last week – meaning they had to win the tie to progress to the final.
However, Arteta's men failed to do the business - finishing the game with a 1-1 draw to see Villarreal go through on aggregate.
With the tournament representing their only realistic route back into the Champions League, Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration.
Piers Morgan was among those who took to social media to criticise Arsenal and question Arteta's role at the club.
The TV personality wrote: 'Why does Mikel Arteta deserve to continue as manager?
'This season has been a total disaster, we’re playing dreadful football, and we just got kicked out of Europe by the guy he replaced. Humiliating.'
Another fan added: 'Today is the best time to sack Arteta. Give the next manager enough time to play competitive matches before the pre-season.
'Arteta won the FA Cup - to everyone’s surprise - & the Community shield. But one thing is clear as daylight: he is not ready to manage a club like Arsenal.'
While one supporter said: 'Arsenal under Mikel Arteta have failed to score in 10 home games this season. TEN HOME GAMES. If that doesn't scare you, nothing ever will.'
Others took to social media to mock Arsenal, with one Twitter user writing: 'There's light at the end of every tunnel...but with Arsenal, its still darkness.'
While others used a series of memes to ridicule the North London club following their European downfall.
Arsenal's result also ruined the hope of a Premier League clean sweep of European competitions this season.
Nevertheless, Manchester United managed to see off Roma in the other semi-final, while Manchester City will play Chelsea in the Champions League final.
