Liverpool are hoping to freewheel into the new Premier League season with fitness at an all-time high, and Jurgen Klopp has being going about that preparation by taking his team cycling this week.

The Reds are out in France, at a training camp set-up in Evian-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva, as they prepare for their final two fixtures of pre-season before the domestic action gets under way.

Klopp's men donned fluorescent yellow helmets as they departed their base on Wednesday morning, with a day of cycling and track and field work ahead of them.

The squad were put through their paces on a lengthy bike ride along the roads of the serene area, with club staff and officials also getting involved.

Klopp then handed over duties to his chief fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer, who put the players through their paces on the track for a fitness and stamina session.

A host of the big names have returned to training now for the Reds, including Mohamed Salag, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool were also handed a boost with the return to first team training of new boy Naby Keita.

The Guinea international had been out of action for a few days after picking up a mild neck injury, and missed the recent 4-1 victory over arch rivals Manchester United as a result.

The 23-year-old was back among his new team-mates on Wednesday, joking around with fellow newcomer Fabinho before getting down to business in training.

Liverpool have two pre-season fixtures remaining before their off-season duties are concluded, with Italian opposition Napoli and Torino in wait.

Klopp's men will face Napoli in Dublin's Aviva Stadium, before wrapping things up in front of their home faithful at Anfield against Torino.

An upcoming debut is likely for new goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who has also now joined up with his new club following a record summer switch from Roma.

The Brazil No 1 is set to play a part in both the remaining friendly ties, as Klopp looks to solidify his back line ahead of the Premier League season opener against West Ham on Sunday, August 12.
