Speaking to Sportmediaset, Aurelio de Laurentiis has strongly indicated that the Serie A side are working to sign the Real Madrid player.
De Laurentiis indicates Napoli working on James deal
Speaking to Sportmediaset today, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis appeared to confirm that the Italians are working on a deal to take the 27-year-old to the Stadio San Paolo, declaring: "I'm not going to sign [Mauro] Icardi, but we'll see about [Hirving] Lozano and James."
Agreeing on terms with James' agent, Jorge Mendes, isn't expected to be a problem for the Naples outfit, who are also confident of negotiating an affordable transfer fee with Madrid chief Florentino Pérez - or at the very least a workable, instalment-based payment plan.
Left Bayern this summer after two years on loan in Germany
James, who joined Madrid from Monaco in an 80-million-euro switch in 2014, left Bayern Munich at the end of the season after the Bundesliga club opted against activating the 42-million-euro purchase clause included in his two-year loan deal at the Allianz Arena.
