An already special trip to Los Angeles was made even more special for FC Bayern as private guests of actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
An FCB delegation including Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was invited to a private dinner at Schwarzenegger's residence, an evening filled with traditional Bavarian food, familiar names like Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren and a celebration of the club's time in LA.
"It was a fantastic evening with a wonderful host who loves Munich and wanted to know everything about FC Bayern," said Rummenigge. Prior to his successful career as an actor and politician, the Austrian spent two years in Munich where he established himself and became "Mr. Universe." His love for the city of Munich has remained to this day.
The club gifted the 71-year-old with a signed team jersey and served up traditional Bavarian treats from club chef Alfons Schuhbeck. "Arnie has always stayed humble, he's one of the most normal guys," said Schuhbeck who has been a close friend of Arnold for over 30 years. "Whenever he visits Munich he always looks forward to the food. It reminds him of his home and his mother and we wanted to bring Munich cuisine to him here in LA."
At the start of the US Tour, Rummenigge jokingly compared Robert Lewandowski's body to that of the "Terminator" and now they had a chance to be up close and personal with the man himself.
