Neymar stays in Brazil to take part in beach football tournament

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is still refusing to return to France for pre-season training - and has instead been filmed enjoying a beach football kick-about in Brazil.

The 27-year-old was branded 'deplorable' by his club this week and is at war with PSG as he angles for a move back to Barcelona this summer, but the situation does not appear to be fazing Neymar.

Instead, the Brazilian has been all smiles and is enjoying an exciting week of football in his home country, first watching the Copa America final and then playing in a game of beach volleyball with some friends.

Joining professional Bello Soares, as well as Adriano Soncini and Fernando Leite, Neymar played under the lights at a beach volleyball tournament, laughing and joking with his pals.

The Brazilian superstar, more famous for his work on grass than sand, leaped around the court and played a number of impressive shots over the net.

Earlier in the week, Neymar had been spotted at both the semi-final and final of Brazil's Copa America success, initially in Belo Horizonte and then at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

What comes next for the Brazilian is as yet unclear, after he refused to return to Paris for pre-season and is seemingly desperate to head back to Catalonia.

'We have not received any offer, but it's true we have had superficial contact [with them],' PSG's sporting director Leonardo told Le Parisien in an interview on Tuesday.

His words were a reference to the way current negotiations over the future of Neymar are in the hands of intermediaries. The two clubs do not talk to each other and do not do business with each other.
