Athletic Club has officially announced the signing of full-back Jesús Areso from Osasuna. The 26-year-old defender has agreed to a contract running through June 30, 2031, marking a return to Lezama where he began his early development.

Athletic Club and CA Osasuna have reached an agreement for the transfer of full-back Jesús Areso, who signs for the red-and-white club until June 30, 2031. The defender from Cascante returns to Lezama in a very strong position after a great career with the red-and-white first team, with 11 assists and one goal in 86 official matches played.
Jesús Areso (26) began his development at Aluvión, Athletic Bilbao's contracted club. He arrived at Lezama as a youth player, where he played 52 matches for Bilbao Athletic. In the 2021/2022 season, he returned to Osasuna, from where he was loaned to Burgos CF before performing strongly at El Sadar.
The Navarrese defender, noted for his physical prowess and impressive defensive skills, will immediately join Ernesto Valverde's training sessions and will be presented at San Mamés in a press conference tomorrow, Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m.
