Jordi Alba puts an end to a brilliant career with the National Team

The full-back says goodbye to Spain after lifting the UEFA Nations League as captain and winning Euro 2012

Fate had saved him a perfect ending with the shirt of the National Team: to the cry of champions, champions. His last image defending the shield of Spain, on June 18 at the Feijenoord Stadium "De Kuip, is already history of our football. Jordi Alba, wearing the captain's armband, lifted the first UEFA Nations League title for Spain, the second of his career with everyone's team to put a perfect epilogue to a legendary career with the Spanish National Team.

On 11 October 2011 he played his first match for Spain in Alicante. With 22 years he settled in a team installed in victory after winning a European Championship and a World Cup, and soon became a key piece to achieve a new success, Euro 2012 in which he scored one of the four goals that served to overcome Italy in the final and lift his first title with the national team. 

In his 12 years as an international he has played 92 games in which he has scored 9 goals. He has represented Spain in three World Cups, three European Championships, the London Olympic Games and a Confederations Cup. 

At 34, Jordi Alba puts an end to this great career as an international. From the Royal Spanish Football Federation, eternal gratitude for this brilliant path. Thank you, Jordi.
