OFFICIAL: Luciano Spalletti becomes the new Napoli manager
It will not be Christophe Galtier or Sergio Conceiçao. Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, had announced to the Portuguese broadcaster RTP, he wanted an Italian coach at the head of his team. The name of the latter had been out for several hours and his appointment has just been formalized on Twitter by De Laurentiis in person.
This is Luciano Spalletti, former Inter Milan coach between 2017 and 2019. He was free since and therefore succeeds Gennaro Gattuso. Here are the words of the presidents: “I am pleased to announce that Luciano Spalletti will be the new coach of Napoli from 1 July next. Welcome Luciano, together we will do a great job.
