Official sources confirm that Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has been handed a one-match suspension by the Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) disciplinary committee following an altercation with Barcelona players during last Sunday's El Clásico. The sanction stems from a confrontation in the dying moments of the match, during which Lunin was shown a red card for his involvement.

According to the report by referee , Lunin was shown a red card in the 90th minute of the match for "leaving the substitutes' bench in an aggressive manner and advancing towards Barcelona's substitutes' bench, requiring intervention from teammates to restrain him".

Under RFEF regulations, Lunin received a one-match suspension for his actions, classified as a minor breach of sporting order. The Disciplinary Committee noted that serious breaches could incur suspensions ranging from four to ten matches, or fines between €602 and €3,006. However, Lunin's conduct was deemed less severe.

Furthermore, Real Madrid's appeal was dismissed, with the Disciplinary Committee concluding that the referee's match report and post-match video footage did not contradict the official match report. Real Madrid may still appeal to the Appeals Committee. Should they remain dissatisfied with the outcome, they may also apply to the TAD (Spanish Sports Arbitration Tribunal) for an interim injunction.
