AS Monaco have completed the signing of Stanis Idumbo (20) from Sevilla. The Belgium youth international has signed a five-year deal with the Principality club.
Last season, Idumbo made 14 appearances for Sevilla in La Liga, including three starts. He will bring depth to the attacking positions at Monaco. It comes as one of those attacking players, Eliesse Ben Seghir, is on the cusp of completing a move away from his formative club. The Morocco international has been left out of Monaco’s matchday squad to face RC Strasbourg Alsace on Sunday.
Idumbo is ineligible to play in that game, however, he will hope to be able to make an impact after the upcoming international break. He has joined from Sevilla for an undisclosed fee, signing a five-year deal.
Speaking on Friday, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro evoked the winger’s recruitment, stating a desire to bring in a new profile to the attack. A fast, dynamic, and direct winger, Idumbo fits the bill.
