OFFICIAL: Barca's first team player Sergi Roberto has a soleus muscle injury in his right leg and will be unable to play until the problem goes away.
There are now eight injured players at FC Barcelona. Sergi Roberto went down this Wednesday in the first team's joint training session with Barça Atlètic. The club have now issued a medical statement regarding the player's injury.
With the plague of injuries affecting the club, Roberto had a chance to play from the start or against Athletic or against Shakhtar next Wednesday in the Champions League. It is another setback for Xavi, who sees his players dropping like 'flies'.
According to reporter Toni Juanmarti, Sergi Roberto will be out for at least two weeks. He won’t play the Clasico and there's doubt for the challenge against Real Sociedad.
Pedri, Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde have also suffered recent injuries.
