Oasis force Marcus Rashford to change Barcelona travel plans

Marcus Rashford is in the Catalan capital having arrived late in Barcelona on Sunday night. On Monday morning the English striker underwent his medical with the LaLiga side and is expected to be unveiled as a new ‘azulgrana’ player in a matter of hours.

His journey from the Manchester to the Catalan capital was far from incident free and the rock band Oasis had plenty to do with this situation.

It’s reported that Rashford had planned to take a direct flight on a private jet from Manchester to Barcelona, but this was not possible because the Gallagher brothers’ band reserved all the space on said jet.

At that point, the current United striker player had to resort to plan B: a car trip to East Midlands Airport near Derby, 130 kilometers by road from Manchester. This meant that Rashford and his advisors boarded the private jet an hour late. Once this setback was overcome, the expedition landed in Barcelona late on Sunday ahead of Monday’s medical examination.

UK media claim that a source close to Rashford regarding this travel situation complication stated: “Marcus’s plans were disrupted. It was all a bit stressful, but he would have walked to Barcelona to sign." The same source joked about Oasis, renowned Manchester City supporters: “Noel and Liam can laugh. They unwittingly put a spoke in the wheel.”
