Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak today collected his fourth straight Zamora Trophy as the goalkeeper with the lowest "goals-to-game" ratio in the 2018/19 La Liga season.

The Slovenian played 37 league games last season and conceded just 27 goals (0.73% per match). He also kept 20 clean sheets and held the best save percentage (79.4%), stopping 105 shots.

It’s the 13th time that an Atleti goalkeeper concedes the least amount of goals in the Spanish league, after Fernando Tabales (1939/40), Marcel Domingo (1948/49), Luis Menéndez (1953/54), Rodri (1970/71), Miguel Reina (1976/77), Abel Resino (1990/91), José Francisco Molina (1995/96), Thibaut Courtois (1912/13 and 2013/14) and, of course, Jan Oblak (2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19).

With this award, the Slovenian has equalled Juan Acuña and Santiago Cañizares’ tally of four Zamora Trophies, the third-best record after Antoni Ramallets and Valdés’ five titles.

Oblak recently became the Atleti goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in LaLiga history after reaching his 96th during against Villarreal. He surpassed the previous record of 95, which belonged to club legend Abel Resino. The Spaniard holds the LaLiga record for the most minutes without conceding a goal (1,275).
