Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Manchester United face a huge battle to catch rivals City and challenge for the title in the future.
The Red Devils go into Sunday's Manchester derby 14 points behind Pep Guardiola's side, who have won 21 games in all competitions and sit top of the Premier League.
And Solskjaer says the runaway leaders are a 'fair distance' ahead of his players after showing their quality since the turn of the year.
'Our focus is just on this one game, not where we could end up.
'We have to be the best possible Man United and try to improve on last season. More points, hopefully get to a final. We have to challenge ourselves.
'They are ahead of us by a far distance so it is a test for us.'
More to follow.
