Ajax's trip to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with Real Madrid will be particularly special for goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The youngster has a past in the Barcelona academy and despite the deficit from the first leg he is confident in his side's ability to overturn the result and progress to the quarter-finals.
Ajax landed in the capital on Monday and are staying in a downtown hotel. The players enjoyed a walk on the Paseo de la Castellana on Tuesday morning in order to relax before the big game against a Los Blancos with many doubts surrounding them following back-to-back defeats against Barcelona.
A possible return
Frenkie de Jong is among the squad and he will be hoping to enjoy a first successful act as a Barcelona player by helping his current side eliminate the defending champions.
Onana is another of the squad linked with the Catalan side and Ernesto Valverde sees him as first choice should Jasper Cillessen move on, which seems increasingly likely.
Already with seven Champions League appearances under his belt, Onana remembers his time at La Masia fondly and he managed to win the UEFA Youth League in 2014 before moving to Ajax, where he has become a pillar of the side at just 22.
The Cameroonian has already played in European competition in Spain, in a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo in 2016, and he could be reunited with De Jong before long if the Amsterdam side can rise to see off Real Madrid.
