Match Report

Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sorloth had put Atletico in control before Llorente was dismissed, and even though Kike Barja's late goal threatened a nervy finish, the visitors were able to hold on.
Atletico were awarded a 15th-minute penalty when Antoine Griezmann attempt to lift the ball over Javi Galan was blocked by the Spaniard's hand, with referee Jose Luis Guzman Mansilla pointing to the spot following a VAR review.
Lookman assumed responsibility of the spot-kick and sent Aitor Fernandez the wrong way from 12 yards, though that setback seemed to spark Osasuna into life.
Ante Budimir somehow diverted Valentin Rosier's shot towards goal wide of the mark from close range, with the Croatian then squandering another golden opportunity moments later as he dinked the ball over the crossbar after latching onto Koke's misplaced back pass.
Osasuna then had a penalty of their own awarded when Juan Musso appeared to collide with Budimir, but the decision was overturned after replays showed the Atletico goalkeeper got a clear touch on the ball.
Diego Simeone's side were made to work for their second, and it came in the 71st minute thanks to half-time substitute Sorloth, who nodded in Llorente's deflected cross at the back post.
But Atletico were made to see out the final 11 minutes a player down when Llorente was shown his second yellow card for fouling Aimar Oroz on the halfway line, and despite Barja's late goal setting up a grandstand finish, it was too little, too late for Osasuna.

Data Debrief: Sorloth a head above the rest
No player has scored more LaLiga goals for Atletico this season than Sorloth (13), despite only 20 of his 33 appearances in the division in 2025-26 coming from the start.
Sorloth's goal was his sixth header in 30 outings in 2026 across all competitions, the highest tally of any player in Europe's top five leagues, while he also finished with team-high totals for shots (two) despite only being introduced at the break.
But Atletico will count themselves lucky to walk away with all three points, given they only registered an expected goals (xG) total of 1.64 from their five shots compared to Osasuna's tally of 2.22 from their 23 attempts.
