L’Équipe are reporting that Olympique Lyonnais have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s €30m offer for Bradley Barcola (20).
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that Lyon had rejected PSG’s opening offer for the France U21 international. Barcola had a breakthrough campaign with Les Gones, imposing himself in Laurent Blanc’s starting XI in the second half of the season. That form was enough to take him to the Euro U21 Championships, whilst it has also caught the eye of PSG, who are targeting high-potential youngsters. The signing of Cher Ndour (19) evidences this new strategy.
However, PSG have failed in their attempts to sign Barcola thus far. PSG’s opening offer of €30m has been rejected. Romano has reported that Les Parisiens’ focus will now turn to Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé, although this reporting hasn’t been confirmed by L’Équipe.
Lyon are unwilling to sign Barcola, but given Lyon’s financial reality, this position could yet evolve. Should Barcola make the move to the Parc des Princes, he would be part of the rotation in PSG’s frontline, which still remains ill-defined amidst attempts to sign further attacking components.
