PSG 7-0 Waasland-Beveren: Neymar and Mauro Icardi pull off audacious penalty assist in friendly win

Neymar managed to assist Mauro Icardi from the penalty spot just a day after Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema tried and failed the same trick for Real Madrid, as PSG thrashed Belgian minnows Waasland-Beveren in a friendly.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is bidding to keep his men fit ahead of their Champions League campaign next month and his men showed no signs of rustiness in attack as they put seven past the visitors, who play their football in Belgium's second tier.

The reigning French champions predictably took the lead on the 21st minute when defender Aleksandar Vukotic turned into his own net after Kylian Mbappe whipped in a threatening cross.

PSG doubled their lead from the penalty spot just seven minutes later when Neymar effortlessly rolled the ball into the net from the penalty spot, putting off the keeper with his trademark stutter-step run up.

The highlight of the match came early in the second half when the hosts were awarded a second penalty, while the visitors were reduced to 10, allowing Neymar to step up to take it once again.

However, this time Neymar unselfishly gently rolled the ball off to his right for an oncoming Icardi to take the ball and smash into the net.

The pair managed to pull off the audacious move less than 24 hours after Real Madrid's Ramos and Benzema attempted the same trick but failed.

Kylian Mbappe then added a fourth for PSG to put the game well out of sight with a man advantage.

Maxim Choupo-Moting then grabbed a brace after coming on to make it 6-0 after 90 minutes, with an extra 30 minutes still left to play.

One more goal was added in the last 30 minutes to make it an emphatic 7-0 after 120 minutes.

Just like their clash with Le Harve, PSG played their friendly to thousands of fans at the Parc des Princes with the cameras showing a lack of social distancing between some sections of fans.
