Parejo has mixed memories of trips to El Sadar

Dani Parejo returns to the scene of his first Valencia goal on Sunday as Los Che visit El Sadar to play Osasuna in LaLiga Santander.

Just three days after facing Osasuna away in LaLiga, Parejo was part of the Valencia team that went up against them in the Copa del Rey in December 2012.

With the scores level after the first 45 minutes of the first leg in Pamplona, Parejo stepped up to bend in a freekick minutes after the restart.

Since then, the Spaniard has netted 12 times from freekicks for Valencia, with his latest one coming at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Last time Valencia made the trip to El Sadar was in January 2017 as six goals were shared in a 3-3 draw.

Parejo had the chance to secure the three points with a penalty in the 87th minute, but passed up the opportunity to make it 4-2 as Mario Fernandez saved his spot kick.

Carlos Clerc went on to equalise for the hosts in stoppage time to prevent Voro's side from coming away from Pamplona with the victory.
