Diego Godin will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of this season and his emotional decision to depart the capital city club has sparked several tributes from the Uruguayan's teammates and opponents.

Gerard Pique
The Barcelona defender showed how much he respects his central defensive colleague.
"Diego Godin is leaving Atletico," the Catalan wrote.
"I have huge respect for an era-defining centre-back.
"Good luck in the future.
"We'll miss you in LaLiga."
Gabi
The former Atleti captain also had a message for the man who inherited the armband.
"Friend, today is a sad day for all Atleticos as you're leaving a club you have defended like no other," he wrote on Instagram.
"You earned the right to be eternal in the hearts of all Atleticos.
"Thanks for being an example and unquestionable leader during this dream era.
"There won't be another like you.
"Good like in your new stage.
"You deserve all the good that comes your way."
Fernando Torres
The legendary striker thanked Godin as well.
"Today is a really sad day for Atleticos as an era-defining centre-back and great captain leaves," he said on Instagram.
"I'd like to say it was a pleasure to fight by your side and see you give everything for the club and fanbase.
"As a fan I'd like to say thanks for making us so happy on so many occasions.
"It was great to see how someone who didn't grow up as an Atletico fan feels it like the rest of us.
"You're earned the right to be one of the club's greatest legends with your effort and example.
"Thanks forever and good luck in the new adventure."
Saul
Niguez
One of the younger members of the Atleti family, Saul Niguez, took to Twitter.
"You're a maestro in every sense," he wrote.
"Thanks for everything you taught us and all you've done for the club.
"We'll miss you a lot in the team."
Lucas Hernandez
Although he has already left for Bayern Munich, Lucas Hernandez also expressed his gratitude towards Godin.
"I wish you all the best," the Frenchman said.
"It was a pleasure to play with you."
Alvaro Morata
Morata spoke about how it didn't take long for him to realise the Uruguayan's greatness.
"Five months were enough to realise the great person that is behind the footballer and all that you mean for the club," the striker wrote.
"Thanks for everything, captain."
Amanda Sampedro
The captain of the Atletico women's team also spoke about her counterpart.
"Thanks captain, you've shown match by match how to defend, respect and love this shirt," she said.
"As an Atletico fan and colleague, I wish you all the luck for your new adventure."
