According to the latest report from Portuguese media Maisfutebol, Jorge Jesus hopes Ronaldo will participate in the UEFA Nations League, and his idea is to manage him by leveraging his understanding of the player.

It is reported that the new head coach of the Portuguese team, Jorge Jesus, is counting on Ronaldo to help the national team face the next challenge – the UEFA Nations League, the first phase of which will begin between September and November this year.
The Portuguese team is the defending champion of the event. They are in Group 4 with Norway, Denmark, and Wales for the 2026-27 season and will play their first round match against Wales at Alvalade Stadium on September 24th.
Jorge Jesus's idea is to use his understanding of Ronaldo during his time at Al Nassr (tactical, technical, and physical aspects) to better manage his performance throughout the tournament, as the knockout stage will not take place until 2027.
During the 2026 World Cup, Ronaldo announced that he would not participate in the 2030 World Cup; however, he did not specify the exact date of his retirement from the national team. In other words, he can still represent the national team.
Ronaldo has made 233 appearances for the Portuguese national team, scoring 146 official goals, and has won three titles: two UEFA Nations League titles (2018-19 and 2024-25 seasons) and one European Championship (2016).
