Premier League spent nearly €4 billion this summer, La Liga only €750 million

According to reports from Spanish media outlet El Periódico, Premier League clubs invested close to 4 billion euros during the summer transfer window, while La Liga clubs invested approximately 750 million euros, further widening the financial gap between the two leagues.

According to Transfermarkt's estimates, the Premier League's spending this summer was more than 5 times that of La Liga. Reuters, meanwhile, estimated the total spending by English clubs at a record £3.46 billion.

Transfermarkt also shows that Premier League clubs earned approximately 2.5 billion euros from player sales, though overall net spending still reached around 1.6 billion euros. La Liga's estimated net spending was approximately 253 million euros.

In Spain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid accounted for most of the investment. Among the top 10 biggest spending clubs in Europe this summer, 8 were from the Premier League.
