From the RFEF they assure that the player did not report any physical problems, nor did Barcelona. Additionally, he is being treated by the same physiotherapist who does so at his club.
The accusations made by Hansi Flick, the Barcelona coach, regarding the management of Lamine Yamal by the national team during this international break have surprised the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). From the federative body, it is maintained that the player never reported any physical problems to national team coach Luis de la Fuente or to any member of his staff. Nor did Barcelona do so to Claudio Vázquez and Óscar Luis Celada, the national team's doctors.
"It's a pity. He already left here in pain. They gave him painkillers and he played 73 and 79 minutes (against Bulgaria and Turkey). And between matches, he didn't train. That's not taking care of the players. Spain has the best players and the best national team, but they haven't taken care of the players and that's what I can say. I'm very disappointed," Flick said at the press conference prior to Sunday's match pitting Barcelona against Valencia (21:00 hours).
The version given by the German coach does not match that of the RFEF. Lamine arrived and left without incident after playing 73 and 79 minutes against Bulgaria and Turkey, respectively, according to the Federation. Additionally, they confirm that Lamine participated in all training sessions, except for the first one in which he did cycling alongside Nico Williams because he had played the previous Sunday against Rayo Vallecano. In the rest of the sessions, the winger had no problem completing them.
The RFEF does not understand the complaints voiced by Flick when the situation arises that Lamine is treated by the same physiotherapist, Fernando Galán, both at Barcelona and in the national team, who also did not communicate anything about any ailment. Likewise, they refer to the images of the Barcelona player's substitution in Turkey, where Lamine staged his anger over Luis de la Fuente's decision.
