Ramos: A team recovers confidence by winning

Sergio Ramos believes Real Madrid will grow in confidence after picking up their first Champions League win of the season. The defender scored the hosts' second goal in their 3-2 win over Inter at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Tuesday.

Zinedine Zidane's side went into Tuesday's game in desperate need of a win after picking up just one point from their opening two fixtures in the group stages against Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Monchengladbach."When you win [games], the team always recovers that confidence," Ramos said at full time against Inter. "The doubts that come from bad results go away, but we have to put everything in perspective and not be changed by any opinion.

"We knew that it was life or death [against Inter]. When you see that they've levelled the game that you'd been leading then you have to get up again and give everything you have left. We'd written off the first half and, in the Champions League, the fewer write-offs, the better."

Ramos reached the total of 100 goals for Real Madrid with his first half header. "One hundred goals isn't bad," the defender smiled afterwards. "Records are secondary, but it's nice to get recognised for those achievements. While they serve to keep picking up wins, let's hope I can score many more."
