Real Betis president Angel Haro has confirmed that Hector Bellerin will return to Arsenal after completing his season-long loan spell in Spain.

The 27-year-old full-back has spent the season on loan at his boyhood club and fulfilled his father's dream by representing the LaLiga side on 32 occasions.

However, Bellerin will return to North London after their LaLiga clash with Real Madrid - having already played his last home game at the Benito Villamarin stadium.

Betis president Haro has confirmed that Bellerin will be returning to Arsenal after his loan spell in Spain.

However, Haro refused to rule out the prospect of signing the 27-year-old on a permanent deal next season.

The club president told reporters: 'Hector is a fantastic player and a very good person. It was a loan that we had from Arsenal, now he returns to Arsenal and from then on, we'll see.

'It is true that he has been very caught up in everything about Betis because, in addition, his parents are Betis fans. Hopefully we cross paths again.'

Having made the temporary switch to Betis last August, Bellerin grown particularly found of the club. He was visibly emotional after playing his final home game against Granada on Sunday.

He was embraced by team-mates Borja Iglesias and Aitor Ruibal, but then could not help but let the tears flow after his parents joined him on the pitch.

Bellerin's affection for Betis is clear and in January he spoke about how much he was enjoying his loan spell.

'All my family supported Betis, he said. 'Everyone at home followed them, my dad and I were die-hard supporters. There's an energy in the stadium that's difficult to describe, it's fantastic.

'It's wonderful to be able to share the amazing atmosphere with the fans. The supporters here have so much respect for the players, they love football and the club.'

Bellerin will be missed in Spain as he helped Real Betis win the Copa del Rey, reach the knockout stages of the Europa League and finish well in the LaLiga standings.

Nevertheless, Bellerin will look to end his loan-spell with a win against Real Madrid on Friday evening.

As it stands, Real Betis are currently fifth in the table - two points ahead of Real Sociedad and three points below Sevilla in third place.
