Real Madrid and Arbeloa make Trent Alexander-Arnold stance clear

  /  autty

Álvaro Arbeloa trusts Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose return to competition is close.

The coach is expecting the defender back soon so he can begin to include the Englishman in his lineups. The club and its executives backed the former Liverpool player as a long-term investment, and nothing has changed. In his most recent appearances, he already showed just how much he can contribute, having long been regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the world.

Some English outlets have reported on a supposed meeting and conversation between the fullback and the coach, in which Arbeloa allegedly told the defender he was not part of his plans and should look for another club. Nothing could be further from the truth. Of course the coach has spoken with Trent, but the purpose was to get first-hand updates on his recovery and to convey full support.

Earlier in the season, those same outlets wrongly speculated about a possible return to the Premier League – specifically to Manchester City – involving Alexander-Arnold, whose sole aim is to succeed at Real Madrid and help the team fight for the two titles still within reach.

There is no doubt about Trent’s adaptation both to Real Madrid and to life in the Spanish capital. Now everything hinges on putting behind him the injury he suffered against Athletic Club in early December.
