Real Madrid are looking for a free-kick specialist (Marca)

When Real Madrid players are fouled, the free-kick taker changes each time. So far this season seven different players have stood over one and none have been successful.

Toni Kroos and Casemiro failed against Real Betis, this despite having a regular penalty taker in Sergio Ramos.

Cristiano Ronaldo's exit - he scored seven goals in 96 attempts from free-kicks - has opened the search for a taker who can threaten. But the last Madrid player to score from a free-kick was Dani Ceballos on January 13. Since then, they've had 19 attempts without success.

In theory, the chosen one should be Gareth Bale, but he's only scored four of his 68.

It's not a new problem for Madrid, though. Looking at the last five years, they've scored just 14 from 191 efforts.

Rodrygo Goes did manage to score one in pre-season against Bayern Munich, but he hasn't taken the responsibility in a competitive game yet.
