June 10, according to "Mundo Deportivo", Real Madrid President Florentino is currently conducting a thorough investigation into leakers within the club.
During the recently concluded Real Madrid presidential election campaign, presidential candidate Riquelme put forward three core views. First, regarding Real Madrid members, he stated frankly that the renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium showed disrespect toward the members, and that this issue has affected a large number of them.
Second, Riquelme repeatedly referred to the membership system reform that Florentino plans to implement after his re-election. The consultant for this reform was Anas Laghrari, a figure who was little known just a few weeks ago and whose identity was publicly revealed by Riquelme's team.
Finally, Riquelme alleged that a large number of Real Madrid administrative staff are overpaid, describing this as one of the key reasons behind the club's unbalanced expenditure structure and severe financial difficulties. He originally stated: "The club's executives' salaries are ridiculously high, and labor costs in non-sporting sectors also remain elevated. Currently, the team has dozens of non-sporting staff whose annual salaries exceed 1 million euros. The club can cut costs in countless areas without needing to touch the sporting department at all."
Riquelme also directly named Real Madrid's current general manager, José Sánchez, revealing that his annual salary is approximately 5 million euros. The remarks not only surprised Florentino's camp but also caused a major shock within the club. Information about senior executives' salaries is confidential internal club information, known only to insiders, which also means that someone within the club leaked core secrets to Riquelme's camp.
