However, Bianconeri sources have insisted to this newspaper that they are not targeting the Brazilian international full-back.
Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport today claimed that, with talks over a new contract for regular left-back Alex Sandro at an impasse, Juve could look to Marcelo as an alternative.
The report also notes that Marcelo has started following the Serie A champions on Instagram, and suggests that his failure to say goodbye to Cristiano on social media could be because their professional paths are about to cross once more.
