Real Madrid's interest in Hermoso cools due to Javi Sanchez's performances

The 2018/19 campaign is not one that Javi Sanchez will forget anytime soon, as the young central defender has become a part of the Real Madrid first team.

He debuted in the first leg of the Copa del Rey tie with Melilla and, in the second, he got his name on the scoresheet for the first time.

In just one month his life has taken a huge turn, after also playing against Celta Vigo in LaLiga Santander and in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen.

Javi Sanchez's performances have not gone unnoticed upstairs at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

As a result, the club's interest in Mario Hermoso has cooled after it seemed likely that he would be brought in in January.

Finishing the game on Thursday with a 91.2 percent pass completion rate, Sanchez's only error came in the second half and he looked as assured as a seasoned professional.

Sanchez arrived at the club in 2005 at eight years of age and now, while establishing himself in the first team, he is a key player and captain at Castilla.
