Real Oviedo president Jorge Menendez Vallina has hit out at LaLiga president Javier Tebas over his inconsiderate kick off times.
Oviedo cut ties with rivals Sporting Gijon after controversial defeat in the Asturian Derby at El Molinon on Sunday was marred by the treatment of the away fans.
Vallina responded to one of Tebas' tweets defending fans, not just from his club, but in general.
"Javier, we can decide on the schedule, but we cannot stop fans from entering the stadium," Vallina said. "The day that we all respect our fans, we will have a more attractive and valuable product.
"Football without fans is not football."
This message will just heighten the tension that already exists between club leaders in Spain and LaLiga over treatment of fans.
There have been many protests by supporters against unreasonable kick-off times and numbers of visiting fans are still far lower than in any other European country.
In his reply, Vallina also backed the upcoming protest that will see fans stay outside the stadium until the 12th minute.
Oviedo midfielder Ramon Folch has leapt to the defence of his club's supporters.
"Our fans' behaviour has been exemplary for a year and a half now, we thank them for the support that they always give us," he said.
"It's good that our supporters are protesting, if we can do something as well then we will. We will see if we can score before the 12th minute so they enter when we are winning."
