LaLiga officially announced that it will hold a retro carnival in the 31st round of La Liga and the 35th round of Segunda División this season.

In these two rounds, participating teams and referees will wear retro jerseys, use retro balls, and the broadcast effects and on-site materials will also be presented in a retro style.

Currently, the event has been agreed to by the vast majority of teams, with only Real Madrid not agreeing to join, but also not explicitly expressing opposition.

Jaime Blanco, head of club affairs at LaLiga, said: "This carnival will take LaLiga into a new dimension, connecting old and new fans, as well as those who like retro football styles. This event will have a profound impact and we look forward to achieving great success. Never before in history has a top league done something like this, and it will be a carnival that will impact the world of football."

Blanco adds:"Retro jerseys will be sold as real merchandise, and some teams already have retro jersey under production, while teams that don't can use this to develop new merchandise. Some teams are unable to make retro jerseys in time for the 31st/35th round because they don't have a production line, but they will participate in other supporting activities, and by this time next season, it will be a complete retro extravaganza. On April 19, we will also exhibit the retro jerseys of all the teams at Madrid Fashion Week, which is an unfamiliar new market, and each club is actively contributing ideas."
