A routine medical check during a holiday in Brazil turned into a major scare for the Real Madrid legend.

An unexpected scare during vacation

Roberto Carlos, former player and current ambassador of Real Madrid, has been hospitalized in Brazil after doctors detected a heart-related issue. The 52-year-old was spending time in his home country when he visited a medical center to undergo tests related to a small blood clot in one of his legs.

Emergency procedure and complications

Following the diagnosis, Roberto Carlos was admitted to hospital to undergo a surgical procedure in which a catheter was inserted. What was expected to be a routine 40-minute operation became more complex and extended to nearly three hours due to complications during the surgery.

Despite the difficulties, the procedure was ultimately successful and the former left-back was declared out of danger, though he remains under close medical supervision.

Positive recovery and reassuring message

The Real Madrid ambassador is expected to remain under observation for at least another 48 hours to monitor his recovery. His environment moved quickly to reassure fans, and Roberto Carlos himself delivered a calm message:

“I’m fine now and being closely monitored.”

The football world continues to follow his condition closely, with optimism growing that he will be discharged in the coming days if his recovery progresses as expected.
